Sustainable Children’s Clothing Brand UK | Myles and Me Story

At the Family Sustainability Hub, I love sharing the stories behind real, purpose-led brands—especially those created by parents who are building something meaningful for their families and the planet.

Today, I’m so pleased to introduce Jessica Buckley, the founder of Myles and Me, and to thank her for sharing her journey with us. Inspired by a desire to stay at home with her son Myles while creating something of her own, Jessica built her brand from the ground up with sustainability at its core.

Myles and Me

Introducing Jess from Myles and Me

Some of the best ideas begin in the quiet moments of motherhood. During nap time relief and the in between moments where life suddenly looks very different.

If you don’t already know by now, I’m Jess, the owner and founder of the brand, and this is my son Myles.

What started as an idea quickly spiralled into what it is today.

During my maternity leave with Myles, I struggled to find the perfect pair of dungarees for him. I wanted something comfortable, practical and stylish. Something that children could move freely in and that parents would love dressing their little ones in.

That is when Myles and Me came to life. For someone who has always loved seeing little ones in dungarees, this truly felt like my calling.

Starting Myles and Me came from a simple place. I wanted to create clothing that feels good for children to wear, lasts well and is made with care. The idea grew from a love of timeless, practical pieces, especially dungarees. They are comfortable, versatile and perfect for everyday life, whether little ones are playing, exploring or simply enjoying being children.

Our dungarees are durable, comfortable and stylish. Designed to be worn, loved and passed on. They are made to suit every season. A statement in summer or layered up through the colder months.

When I began thinking about turning this idea into a brand, I knew I did not want to create clothing just for the sake of it. The fashion industry already produces an overwhelming amount of clothing every year, much of which ends up in landfill. That made me stop and think carefully about how Myles and Me should exist in the world.

Sustainability became a core part of the brand from the beginning.

At Myles and Me, we believe in creating clothing more thoughtfully. Our dungarees are produced in smaller batches, focusing on quality over quantity. By creating smaller runs of better made pieces, we hope to reduce unnecessary waste.

Rather than producing large volumes, Myles and Me focuses on smaller, more considered batches of dungarees. This allows us to prioritise quality and longevity, creating pieces that are designed to be worn, loved and passed on as children grow.

Producing in smaller batches also helps reduce excess stock that might otherwise go unsold and eventually end up discarded. It is a slower and more thoughtful way of producing clothing, but one that aligns with the values behind the brand.

Reducing landfill is an important part of this. When clothes are made quickly and cheaply, they are often treated as disposable. Myles and Me is built on the opposite idea. Creating dungarees for children that families genuinely love and use again and again.

Every piece is designed with longevity in mind, from the fabrics chosen to the construction and fit. The goal is to create something that can be worn, enjoyed and passed on rather than quickly replaced.

Myles and Me is still at the beginning of its journey, but the intention is simple. To create clothing for little ones that feels special, lasts longer and contributes a little less to the growing problem of fashion waste.

Conclusion

Supporting sustainable brands like Myles and Me is a simple but powerful way to make more conscious choices as a family. By choosing clothing that is made to last, produced in smaller batches, and designed to be passed on, we can reduce waste and move away from the cycle of fast fashion.

Sustainable shopping doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small, thoughtful decisions—like where we buy our children’s clothes—can make a real difference over time, helping us create a more responsible and mindful future for the next generation.
